Ghazal Theosophy

Who is Godless tonight, is it you or me?
Who let the earth's door shut quietly, you or me?

Who is the Angel tonight and who the Demon?
Who swept a third of the stars from the sky, you or me?

Are the planets rising or circling, setting or spinning?
The light is blue and loud. Does it call for you or me?

Two touching temples, two far away faiths,
each worshiping a graven image of you or me.

Old suns are burning away into blackness,
becoming the black holes of you or me.

That unfocused figure, kneeling, lighting candles, praying with folded fists,
smelling of over burnt incense, is it you or me?
