Comments on the GhazalsI had unfortunately few submissions for this issue; fortunately, I found a few good ghazals to publish. Let that comment stand as invitation to others to try their hands (keyboards?) at ghazals and send me the results.
The range of these three ghazals couldn't be larger. Deborah Kolodji's
ghazal dissects our need to keep every mortal thing forever. Alison
Marshall deals with a quit different loss, the loss of the divine
radiance shining through the ordinary and even the unconventional.
Red Slider's ghazal takes up the imminence of loss, the ominous shades
and fore-shadows of the losses that are inevitable.
Through these three different voices, I hope you find poetic delight
and an increased sense of the possibilities of the English ghazal.
