Two Ghazals

Werner Reichhold

Swallows, they protect eggs from crows
chasing a nest in which the imagined

color of a painter's view is formed
and nested by his woman's hair.

A doorway of defense, a doorstep viewing
a catalogue of planed journeys.

Smell appearing by surprise. One wants
to assemble more energy before the new breath.

restlessness occurs as a joiner and we friends
are gathering our tools unforced

like in an interim solution when twin sisters
allow garments to be worn in exchange.

Renewable raw silk's smell; no, not every time
but today we're closing the window more tightly.

Swim of a narrative
the gurgle, the r before the g.

One drop's tongue into the path
not passing the one ahead.

Drop, the repetition
one someone's softness in a while.

Body of wolf-haired yellow
tongue-washed, dawn undated.

Fur asleep, the riddle the earliest pillow.
Is there a plan, compressed

clouds of a desert hillside imbibing
the cracks seeking a filling or more

mixed motion. With the breath of a fang
I see premonition was here

its blouse unbuttoned
as if a shift has meaning.

The slow self's long view uprooted,
ice melts, sealed orders transmute

into a corridor of sunny indications.
Molten, how much is running without corners.
