Back to 2005 Ghazals

2005, Set Three

The presentation of new poems will be a little different this time. I have not posted new ghazals as soon or as often as I'd expected at the beginning of the summer, so this group is larger than usual. There are two pages, linked above. Each page presents the number of ghazals that would usually make up a group.

The hard-copy little magazine and small press scene is notorious for slow response time (or no response at all). You'd think that electronic media would be faster than those print media. However, I seem to be setting a good old-fashioned little mag pace. (And I've experienced a couple of web 'zines that didn't respond in any way to my submissions, just like the "old days"!)

In any case, my apologies to the poets involved. I will try to get my act together with a pace appropriate to the speed of email ("appropriate," not "identical"). There are good ghazals linked below. I hope you will find reading them rewarding.

One more thing: if you submit poems for The Ghazal Page, please send them in the body of a plain text email message. Do not use formatting. If you want special formating, tell me and I will set it up. Especially, do not send poems as attachments. HTML is plaintext; any formatting has to be done with HTML tags, so submissions in Word or formatted email have an extra level of work to be prepared for the Internet. For instance, I must replace "smart" quotation marks and apostrophes, otherwise the browser displays a strange code instead of the writer's intended punctuation.

Please send me comments and ghazals.
